Social Studies: Thursday will be a test over the history and people of the Southeast.
Math: We'll have another test on Wednesday.
Reading: Our genre this week is non-fiction. We're skipping around in this unit a bit because I thought it would be fun to read about spiders on the last week of October.
English: Our class is starting to get the hang of the Shurley Grammar series. I hope they are coming home and singing the jingles to you. This week we'll be learning about prepositions. There are a lot of them, and we'll even step out of the book on Thursday to play a Preposition Bingo to help familiarize ourselves with the prepositions.
Spelling: We now have a Spelling City premium membership. This means that I can assign games and activities to students based on the exact spelling list that fits them. I am so happy to be able to make this accommodation for everyone. Be looking in your child's homework folder on Monday for the list they will test on Friday.
Science: The Chapter 1 Science test is finally upon us. We will review and prepare all week for the test on Friday.
Reminders: Please sign your Blue Friday Folders each week so that I know you have seen them. It's also a place to write an encouraging note to your student or tell me something that I might need to know.
Continued drilling of multiplication facts at home is needed. We are transitioning to more and more lessons about multiplication.
Students are welcome to bring a water bottle to my class. However, it must be a bottle and not a cup. Cups with straws can spill.
On The Calendar:
This is Red Ribbon Week.
M: PJ's
T: Backwards Day
W: Red polo
TH: Hat/Crazy Hair Day
F: Casual Spirit Wear
11/1 Parent-Teacher Conferences: I'm looking forward to meeting some of you and chatting about your amazing students!
