Welcome to 2nd grade

Welcome to Second Grade! An emphasis is placed on becoming independent thinkers, workers, and problem solvers.  We are going to be learning so many fascinating topics during this year! In Math we are learning new skills such as regrouping, measuring with standard units, and telling time.  We'll learn about life science and the important moments in history, as well as continuing to read and write longer passages. Please discuss at home what students are learning in class each day!  One place to start is seeing what your child is writing in their planner.

Water bottles

Parents may send your student with a reusable water bottle to prevent headaches on days when weather fronts come in or spring allergies require extra fluids, or it's extremely hot.  Water bottles are always welcomed in my classroom (as long as they are reusable). Hydrated brains are ready to learn. :)

Wish List

New or gently used board games (for indoor recess). New or gently used Non-Fiction books.
There are often books for the classroom listed on the
Scholastic wishlist.
